Volunteers Spruce up Honokaa Rodeo Arena

Adults and kids from the Hawaii Quarter Horse Association teamed up to help paint the announcers stand at the Honokaa Rodeo Arena on Saturday, May 1st.

The occasion was part of an arena fun day in which kids and adults work with their horses to improve horsemanship and rider skills. The adults started first and when the kids were finished their riding for the day they pitched in too, Rollers and brushes flew about and many finished the day wearing the new color scheme

The County Parks Department provided the materials and the horse folks went to work. HQHA president Linda Hunt said “we appreciate the county providing a facility for the local equine community and are always willing to help where we can.”

Volunteers from the Saddle Club and the Roping Club also contribute to the maintenance effort. The County guys could use some help in these difficult times and a community effort is what it takes.
